Champeta is a style of dance originating in the Caribbean coastal region of Colombia.

Champeta originated among inhabitants of African descent of the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias, particularly the Kongo peoples, and was linked with the culture of the Palenque of San Basilio district. It shows influences from African colonial settlements and particularly from the African nation of Congo.
