German major recording company based in Hamburg. It was founded as joint
venture between the companies Telefunken AG and Decca Record Co. Ltd in 1950. The recording
production of Telefunkenplatte GmbH
(record division of Telefunken AG) was integrated in the new company. In
1983 both owners sold their shares and the company was renamed to
"Teldec Schallplatten GmbH". Warner acquired that company in 1988 and
??another name change followed?? (Teldec Record Service GmbH). Since
1990/1991 the company is known as EastWest Records GmbH.
the center labels listed sometimes the pressing plant instead of the
record company:
Hergestellt bei der TELDEC-Press GmbH, Nortorf
-> The pressing plant is now the "OK Media Disc Service GmbH" and part
of the OK Media Group
